Credit Recovery Information

The first thing a student needs to do when they are behind in credits is speak with their counselor in person or by email.  Below are some resources for Credit Recovery.  Read through the options available so you are ready to speak with your counselor about which of these best fits your needs.  Click the links on the left for more information.

ACE - SCHS accepts recovery credits from the ACE Learning Center.  The center nearest St. Charles is located in Florissant, MO.  The cost associated with ACE classes is $100 per semester course.  ACE limits their enrollment, so early enrollment is a must.  They are currently accepting enrollment for the Fall 2015. The enrollment form must be signed by the student's counselor.

Ferguson-Florissant Night School - SCHS will accept recovery credits from the Ferguson-Florissant Night School.  The center is located in Florissant, MO.  Registration begins January 2016.  The program is an option for students, who want to complete course work for high school graduation and have been enrolled in high school for two years.  Night school classes are held at the Mark Twain Student Support Center, 1555 Derhake Road, in Florissant.  Early Registration fee is $85 with a late registration feel of $95.  A two part registration form is available in the Guidance Office and must be signed by your counselor.  Please note due to low attendance in the summer, there will be no 2016 Summer Classes offered.

Online Correspondence Credit - SCHS will accept online credit from MU HighStudent must clear course with counselors prior to registering to ensure the specific classes are accepted.  You will want to include our school code (262850) to ensure grades are transferred to SCHS upon completion of the course.

MO-VIP - Missouri has a statewide virtual school program.  According to Missouri legislation, the Missouri K-12 Virtual Instruction Program (MoVIP) offers state-funded (free) and tuition-paid online courses to any kindergarten through grade twelve (K-12) students residing in Missouri, subject to appropriations.  Requests for enrollment can be made online at the official MoVIP website.  They are currently enrolling students for the Summer semester.

Please be aware that courses for the Summer semester are set up so that students can complete a traditional 18-week session in nine weeks. In other words, the pace is twice as fast in the summer. On average, summer students should plan on spending two hours working on each course, each weekday.
